Whether you have a little time to give or a lot, we accept all commitment levels!

I've enjoyed my years volunteering for the Boys and Girls Club of Door County because I've seen how important it is for the kids to have a safe place to go to after school and how much they appreciate the snacks and also the dinner that is provided to them. Everyone thinks if you live in Door County you must have a lot of money, but it's sad to say that definitely isn't the case for so many families. I've worked with the kindergarteners and love seeing the huge change in them throughout the year. They gain so much confidence and make many new friendships. I must also say that I love the smiles on their faces when they see me and the hugs I always got from them (before this "Terrible, No Good, Very Bad, Covid 19")

Meal & Snack Assistants

BGCDC serves over 19,000 snacks and over 3,400 meals after-school. It takes many people to feed many children. Please consider helping us continue this vital meal program to kids who need it most!

Special Events Volunteers

Assist with fundraising events or special projects like club cleaning or painting days. This may work for those unable to commit to a regular volunteering schedule. Events occur throughout the year.

“As parents of three sons and grandparents of nine, we have always enjoyed children. We value the opportunity to work with children in our community and especially to watch them evolve and grow. We also appreciate and admire the staff, who makes it their vocation to help children. It’s satisfying to assist them in their efforts any way we can.” Barb & Fred Frey

Club Facilitators

If you have an activity you would like to share with our members, we would love to have you! You may only want to share an activity once (that’s great!) or perhaps you’d like to facilitate the activity over 6-8 club sessions and interact with the same group of members each week. We love providing our members with opportunities to learn about many different skills and talents. Let’s figure out how we can share yours!

Program Helpers

Have a passion for interacting with kids? We need program helpers to assist our staff in facilitating fun activities for our members of all ages. From arts and crafts, to sports in our Rec Center, to helping with reading skills in our Kindergarten Program, and much more! This is a great way to make connections and get to know our members.

Elementary Youth Mentors

Spend time with members who really benefit from one-on-one time. Read a book together, chat about your day, provide emotional support, be present. This type of interaction makes such a difference in the lives of our members.

Teen Center Mentors

Hang out with members in our Teen Center (grades 6-9) and nurture their self-confidence, listen and help them problem-solve, and introduce them to new ideas, activities, and opportunities!

Club Mentors & Mentees must remain at the Club site.

We need your help to ensure great futures start here. Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Chelsea Dahms, call (920) 818-1046, or email cdahms@bgcdoorcounty.org, to find out more about our volunteer application process. A background check is required.
